We are seeking an accomplished, creative and energetic technical leader who is passionate about innovative applications and motivated to succeed. This early-stage stealth company was started by industry executives with a successful track record in building high performance teams and developing innovative technology.

Role:
Reporting to CEO, the Vice President of Software Architecture/Product Development will be a hands-on leader and have responsibility for typical engineering-related functions in a mobile startup:

• Technology strategy from initial concept to commercialization, identifying and developing innovative technical solutions to address customer and business scenarios, and building compelling customer experiences
• Recruiting and managing a world-class development team
• Designing, developing, testing and launching mobile applications and services
• Managing the deployment process to ensure that the product gets built, gets built to specification and is shipped on time
• Applying innovative IT architectures, usability, accessibility and design principles
• The individual selected will be a key player in our organization and provides technical leadership across the organization

Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate for VP Product Development must:

• Understand the current and evolving security needs of mobile carriers and subscribers
• Have successful experience in developing and introducing new products and product strategies
• Be able to generate high-quality review documentation such as reviews, design opinions, architectural and process flow diagrams
• Be a leader capable of building and managing a motivated team
• 3-5 years experience with Mobile Applications, APIs and development environments
• Knowledge of development methodologies, GUI development and web architectures
• Knowledge of Web Services standards and application usage scenarios
• Be an exceptional mobile technology specialist with a proven track record delivering complex applications on multiple platforms
• Extensive experience in system level programming (C/C++ / Java / C# etc.)
• Extensive experience in embedded programming (Symbian/C++/J2ME etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of wireless protocols (GSM / GPRS / CDMA / WAP etc.)
• Education: BS, CS, Engineering, or related field
• The right to work in the United States

A definite plus would be:

• Previous experience as CTO, VP of Engineering or VP of Software Development with a high-growth, venture-backed startup with the passion & energy to do it again.
• Previous experience in consumer mobile services applications, messaging applications and carrier grade server platforms
• Successfully formed & managed geographically-dispersed engineering teams & processes
